On Friday, (01/23/2016) she lead the mourners at the elaborate funeral in Montreal planned for Rene Angeli, her husband-manger and the father of their three sons (René-Charles, 15, and 5-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson).Angélil, who died aged 73 last Thursday, had been suffering from throat cancer. Compounding the sadness, Dion’s older brother, Daniel, died two days later, also from cancer. Dion announced a “celebration of life” service for Angélil would be held on Feb. 3 at Caesars Palace.) . it was really touching to see Celine Dion Broke down in tears as she opens the gasket to see her Husband, Mentor and manager father of three for the last time.
14-year-old Rene Charles also gave an emotional eulogy at the ceremony. He said
“Fifteen years is not a long time for a son to get to know his father. You had a busy life, but we were communicating through golf, hockey, poker, and smoked meat. And a lot of other wonderful food. Bonding more and more as time went by. You left me now with enough good memories of you to share with my younger brothers. As they grow older without you being around, I’ll make sure to pass on what I’ve learned from you. You are a tough act to follow, but with your help everything is going to be fine. Dad, I promise you here that we are all going to live up to your standards.”
