NIYI AKINTOLA ( SAN) |
The Notable Quote of Chief Akintola " I will rather be the head of rat than to be the tail of an Elephant" will forever leave me wondering what an epitome of integrity, some will rather prefer fame, wealth and position for integrity but not same with chief Niyi Akintola who put and end to his political carrier for justice equity and fairness and not because he does not have the opportunity to dance to the tune being played and dictated by the piper, whoever remember how he became the Speaker of Oyo State house of Assembly, how he got kidnapped and how he decided to uphold his integrity, justice and equity for personal gain will definitely know what am talking about.
I have been wondering how can a man become a SAN without going through a secondary school education? this has always remain a misery and thus arouse my curiosity. i then decided to go on a personal research with really motivation, heartfelt intriguing and touching story of Chief Niyi Akintola which should not be seen unpublished on this prestigious forum, what a story worth daily profiling and re profiling. All all needs to really take time to read about a man became a Senior Advocate of Nigerian when hope seems to have been lost but will never give up.
Chief Akintola SAN was born to the peasant farmers parent but grew up with his grand father who took up the responsibility as the father and Mama Adepate , the grand father wife at the age of one, with such a wonderful upbringing and availability of necessary things of life, what a such gifted child who finishes primary school meant for six years in four years because of double promotions as reward for his academic capability but had other side of life at the demise of the old man which put an halt to his academic pursuit for lack of sponsor, young Akintola had no choice but enroll into Mechanic workshop as his father who could not afford tuition demanded but decided to run away to become a Motor Boy at Ogunpa Ibadan .
The Legal Luminary never gave up despite being a Motor Boy after runing away from home, ofcourse we all know what a Motor Boy looks like and what they go through, they leave exactly the life a a tray dog who do not have a place of their, they are just like a nomadic who does not have a define destinations but wherever it goes. The Motor Boy Loading Job took him from Ibadan to Kaduna for an offloading job where he decided to run away to become of photographic apprentice but still never gave up. He was busy reading and preparing for exam not until he was able to pave his was in obtaining GCE result in the year 1977 and GCE A level in 1979, and wrote JMB in 1980 all in flying Colour but got frustrated to study law at first at the University of IFE. He went through thick and nail and eventually obtained a degree in Law at the University of Ibadan. haven, merry-go-round he ended up being call to Bar but could not afford the Money for Wig and Gown on his swearing in day but had to borrow from a friend. the peak of it was for a graduating student not to be able to afford to pay for a nap shot of his graduation day not to even talk of hosting friends and family. graduating Chief Adeniyi Adetola SAN as at then could not afford to pay just a snap shot in the borrowed graduating gown due to terrible hard time being experienced which prompted him to proceed for his Masters Degree with the primary aim of having graduating pictures.
And to God be the Glory Adeniyi Akitnola is happily married to Justice Boyede Adeniyi Akintola, a judge of the High Court of Oyo State.Adeniyi Akintola is also a holder of M.
