O.A.U ASSAULTED STUDENT CALL FOR THE PROSECUTION OF DR LAOLU AGUNKUNLE OF DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY OF SAME INSTITUTION

I, Alaaka Tobi Jibola, of the Department of Demography and Social Statistics wish to publicly express my sadness at the physical assault I endured in the hands of one Dr. Laolu Ogunkule, a lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, and to briefly relive the torturous experience in writing, even as I appeal for quick intervention and seek redress.
 

On Wednesday, 16th of March 2016, at 1000SLT, at a little past noon, Dr. Ogunkunle accosted me on the unsubstantiable suspicion that I was an impersonator in an examination he was co-ordinating - CHM 102; when I had merely been mistaken about the venue of my actual exam -- an elective course which I had registered for, expected to hold at the same hour. But as I was making to leave for the exit, Dr. Ogunkule called me back, to which I respectfully responded.
 

But in a dramatic turn of event, the so-called "Dr." - evidently intolerant of dialogue, or maybe incapable of such civil resolution to a minor misunderstanding - and with only his indiscretion as proof of my impersonation, resorted to the lowly depths of a street urchin when he thundered violently, and landed repeated slaps on me. And in a manner disturbingly reminiscent of the activities of a lynch mob, the heavily-built Dr. Ogunkunle dragged me by my belt buckle, pushing angrily - in an attempt to shove me to the ground, eventually ripping my shirt to shreds: a public humiliation greeted by shock from the about 500 onlooking students waiting to write their exam, and even the younger lecturers assisting in the exam supervision -- some of whom pleaded with him, as I tearfully did the same. Ogunkule, however, was relentless in his mindless attack, after which he handed me over to the security who, so to speak, rescued me and later apologized to me on his behalf.


Nonetheless, Dr. Laolu Ogunkule by his actions has not only violated the principles of mutual respect, proper conduct, and elementary human decency of our civilization and culture; he has also proven to be a big stain on the Nigerian education system in general, and the academia in particular, with some of his colleagues already describing this incidence as "barbaric" among other colorful terms. But name-calling is not enough. It is partly because of men like Ogunkule, who routinely affront clearly stated laws, that the wider Nigerian society has degenerated into unspeakable lawlessness, now encroaching into our ivory towers. But even more, because men like me, the abused and trampled upon, keep quiet in the face of such cruelty, which partly, and most importantly, stem from the fact that the appropriate authorities and, indeed, the public are often either unpardonably silent or inexplicably lenient in their discharge, or rather perversion, of justice.  

I hereby call on the entirety of Obafemi Awolowo University students, on behalf of the students of other Nigerian universities, who quietly suffer similar harrassment - sexual, physical, or verbal - from their lecturers, to join their voice in pressing the university management (The VC, Deans of Faculties, members of the senate); the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the Nigerian University Commission (NUC), other similar authorities, and every stakeholder in the Nigerian education system to ensure that this case between Dr. Ogunkule and, indeed, the prevailing values of the civilized world is not swept under the carpet as usual, so as to serve as a notable deterrence of historical significance, and restore safety to our increasingly hostile academic communities. Of course, Dr. Laolu Ogunkule's rights to fair hearing are yet intact, and he now has a moral obligation, if not a professional necessity, to come out and defend himself over his violent conduct and have this issue resolved as due. We wait.

If the killings of four military personnel in rivers state according to report is real, then Nigeria security should not and do not need to start looking anywhere for the perpetrator but the man who has been in-sighting and promoting violence, Wike Nyesome,the Governor of River State whose election was upheld by the supreme court has been as the four-front of those promoting violence in the state through his persistence negative and undue out-burst, the governor was heard two days ego spiting fires and brim stone, in a nut shell, the Governor of River State need to be held responsible for any killings in the state ofcourse this is what happens when you allowed indiscipline to thrive in a country as Jonathan did. This is what happens when you allowed the dregs of your society to get to leadership positions. This is what you get when you make political office the juiciest and the most attractive positions in the country. This is what happens when access to Power does not come with responsibility that Power imposes on political office holders. The Nigeria Army must once and for all send a VERY strong signal to this bunch of nonentities. I have said it many times that the rule of law is a noble concept for just civilized people. But the rule of law takes two to tango. You cannot violate the rule of law with impunity as citizens and expect to be protected under the rule of law when the law comes for you. General Buratai should Buratashi all these buffoons. They did it under Jonathan presidency. They got away with it. Nigeria Supreme Court judges emboldened them with its rulings. They have tried it again under Buhari. We must tell them that enough is enough. If necessary this should consume Wike. We cannot allow these charlatans like Wike, et al to access leadership position in the 21 century, if we are serious of moving forward, Wike should be held responsible and should be let to face the wrath of the law, Enough is enough of all these, its high time we say a loud good radiance to bad rubbish, we can not allow our expensively trained Nigerians Army to be wasted by Wike and his coopt, one of the political party ward  chairman was killed along his wife and a son, another part faithfuls was murdered and body burnt not long in a broad day light and the Governor has not come out to condemned such act but came out few days to threatened death on not just the people of the state but his predecessor even the INEC official.all this was done covertly but in an open and well attended rally. Enough is enough of this Charlatan call Wike.  

OLAMIDE GOT ANOTHER SONG ( DONT STOP) BAN BY NBC

Just months after The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) banned Olamide’s  ‘Bobo’ for vulgar lyrics, the organisation has banned another of the singer’s song- ‘Don’t Stop’ for the same offence.

I will just tell the people of the State to accept my sincere condolence and sympathy and encourage them to please be hard on their back as more of the killings is meant to come if something fast is not done.

This is not by any means to justify satanic action taken by Amechi or any related person, all am saying is that River State should be left save as the Primary responsibility of any responsible leader should be the protection of life's and properties of ts citizenry, not as it now where a a supposed Governor will come out with such irresponsibly outburst, People of Rivers should be paid to have voted in Wike, Matter what the people and the international observers says about the mass rigging and election irregularity, the apex court has ruled and such should be seen bidding as such legalized Wike emergence as the dejure governor of River State, everyone should wake to the reality that Wike has come to stay for now respectful of what.. The tout Governor should be call to be responsible as such outburst shows high level of irresponsibility., this is high level of irresponsibility, why is the Governor hitting up an already volatile environment? this is on called for and should not be tolerated. I CAN NOT APOLOGIZE PUBLICLY FOR THE KILLING OF DR GIWA AT THE DETERMENT OF MY CARRIER , FEBRESIMA BOASTED

Biola Giwa-Adeyemi is late Dr Giwa's sister and she wanted to shed more light on the case between Ibinabo Fiberersima Vs Lagos State. Read what she sent in below...

First of all, the case was between Lagos state Government Vs Ibinabo Febresima but not Giwa Vs Ibinabo Febresima. On this faithful day of Feb 26th 2006 along the Lekki Epe Express way, my late brother Dr Giwa was driving with his brother and another family friend in his car coming from a meeting in Ajah, they were held up in a traffic around the evening time, when this tragic accident happened

 Ibinabo was driving towards Lekki while the late Dr Giwa was coming from the other direction facing towards Island, just by shop-rite, when ibinabo's jeep flipped and lost control from her lane jumped over the culvert or pavement  that demarcate the road from the on coming vehicle. The speed that skipped and flipped a jeep  over the road demarcation will be considered "Reckless and Endangerment" because the VIO dept checked the jeep brakes, the engine and all the mechanical and electrical of the jeep but the result shows nothing wrong with the jeep and confirm that the accident as due to "OVER SPEEDING" in which the result was on record

         After the accident, Ibinabo left the scene of the accident without checking for any survivors, she took the license plate and registration out of the car and fled from the scene, that was considered "HIT AND RUN". The people at the scene of the accident recognized her as Ibinabo Febresima, and stated she was drunk."Driving Under Influence" of whatever she had. The State Department of Transportation has to use the VIN number to locate the Owner of the jeep, in which the owner was Daniel Wilson. That was my very first time of hearing the name of Ibinabo Febresima.The Doctor died at the scene of the accident because the jeep was on top of the Honda accord driven by him and they couldn't save him on time because of the seat belt and the weight of the jeep, the brother and the other family friend in that car had survived. Did she know the state of mind and the emotional instability of the people involved in that accident up till now, Ibinabo has never been in a Comma.

          After all the evidences against her, with the result of the VIO by the State department of Transportation, The DPP office took over and charged her to court and she hired Festus Kiamo in which after reviewing the case he withdrew by saying he cannot represent her because it's a bad case.

          Doctor Giwa has a living mother for goodness sake, wife with 3 children's, Ibinabo deprived him from seeing his children graduate from university and getting married, also from being the one to bury his mother at her old age, "Whereas no one ever prayed that on the day of their children's success and happiness they should replaced the Ibinabo was never remorseful, they brought her to meet with me shortly after my brother's death in GRA Ikeja before my return back to the USA, but her only concern then was to drop the charges against her. I told her that it's not my family Vs her but the State Vs her, that where I come from in USA that we do not interfere with the justice system, that they should do their job and advise her to apologize publicly to the masses and to the family and throw herself to the mercy of the court. She said and l quote "I CAN'T DO THAT, BECAUSE IS GOING TO DAMAGE MY CAREER" what an ego, she cannot apologize publicly, I feel like kicking her ass. She's worried about her stupid career, What happened to the career of the Doctor, who happened to be a 'MEDICAL DIRECTOR AND THE HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL REHABILITATION MEDICINE AT GENERAL HOSPITAL LAGOS.

         People say there is no justice in Nigeria, but it does once in awhile. The lower court magistrate O.A Isaac found her guilty with the option of 100,000.00 Naira, which is considered a judicial recklessness, 100k does not even buy an iPad, the life of someone does not worth more than 100k, so that people will take the liberty of committing crimes.  Later Justice Deborah Oluwayemi of the High court find her guilty and overturn the option of fine and gave her 5 yrs in prison, she spent 3 weeks and came out on bail to go to Court of Appeal, however, how can a convicted person came out on bail, here in USA you will be in jail and they will transport you to and from each time you have an hearing. Finally Appeal court found her guilty and sentence her to 5 years imprisoned. 

          Let her face the wrath, it is said that you can run but can't hide, it's a law of Kama that catch up, This will serve as a deterrent to others. Who will believe after 10yrs she will still be slammed, The Family of the late Dr Giwa had moved on with our life's, She was forgiven, it was very difficult and painful, but God gave us especially his mother and children the fortitude to bear the loss.

           On behalf of our families and friends, we really thank the Lagos State Government, The attorney general Mr Sasore, DPP Mrs Odutola and colleagues, Justice Deborah Oluwayemi, Justice Jamilu Yammama Tukur, Justice U.I Udukwe-Anyawu and Justice Tijani Abubakar and everyone for their support, no evil shall befall anyone, as you all go out and come in, may God's grace and protection abide with each and everyone. 'JUSTICE AT LAST' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  JUSTICE AT LAST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  JUSTICE IS FINALLY DONE !!!!!!!!!!!!.
