ALEX BADEH REMANDED IN KUJE PRISON

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has remanded a former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh, in Kuje Prison.Badeh was arraigned before the court today on 10 counts of money laundering.The arraignment was initially billed for Thursday last week, but had to be shifted because of the absence of Justice Okon Abang.The EFCC had on Monday last week filed 10 counts of money laundering against Badeh and a firm, Iyalikam Nigeria Limited, accusing them of fraudulently removing N3.97bn from the account of the Nigerian Air Force in 2013.

Family source said the accident which involved his vehicle; a Prado SUV and another Lexus SUV also left his wife in serious coma and latter reported dead  Also in the ill-fated car were his son who has also been confrim dead  and aide-de-camp, Vanguard learnt. Cruz, the most conservative candidate remaining in the 2016 presidential race, also prevailed in a straw poll Saturday of grass roots conservatives, showing that he might be gaining on Trump, who for weeks has been the Republican frontrunner in the White House race.

LAGOS KILLINGS REMAIN UNINTERRUPTED AS HAUSA CROSSED OVER TO UNLEASHED TERROR ON YORUBA COMMUNITY

Some parts of the   Mile 12 market and environs in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos, yesterday, were tension-soaked  following fresh killings by armed hoodlums suspected to be from the Northern part of the country. Four persons were reported killed in the renewed midnight ethnic clash which started on Wednesday night. Saturday Vanguard gathered that in spite of the curfew imposed in the area, some armed men arrived at  the early hours of yesterday through the canal and destroyed some shops in the market. Some homeless persons sleeping in the market and adjourning streets were suspected to have been killed.

A resident, who simply gave his name as Oluwatimileyin, said: “ The Hausa men  crossed the Agilinti river with canoe and attacked residents of an estate at Isheri North, last night. They even burnt some buildings”. Irked by the invasion, some armed  Yoruba  youths  converged close to the market in readiness for another clash at about 1pm.  The irate youths, who chanted war songs attempted to invade the market and destroy  shops belonging to  Hausa traders.  But they were dispersed by security operatives with tear gas cannisters.

NEW OLUBADAN DEMAND THE CREATION OF IBADAN STATE AT CORONATION

Forty-six days after the demise of the last Olubadan of Ibadan,Oba Samuel Odulana,his successor Oba  Saliu Akanmu Adetunji ,ascended the throne yesterday and immediately tabled a list of his demands before the government.

Oba Adetunji who adopted the title of   Aje Ogunguniso 1 pleaded for the creation of Ibadan State  and the upgrading of the Ibadan airport to international status.

He urged  the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC),Asiwaju Bola Tinubu,who was among the many prominent Nigerians at the event, to help him in getting the deeds done.

“I beg Bola Tinubu as a key personality in this government to assist us on these issues,” the Olubadan said in Yoruba,moment after receiving his letter and staff of office which were symbols of authority from Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State.
