BODE GEORGE ARTRIBUTES PDP LAGOS DEFEAT TO OBANIKORO SELFISH AND PAROCHIAL INTEREST
In his remarks, a former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Chief Bode George, attributed the defeat of the party in the last general elections to a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.
The PDP chieftain, who lamented that indiscipline had been a major problem of the party, said the party would not tolerate factions under any guise because they were dividing the party.
George said, “Our victory was scuttled by evil characters who preferred the narrow position of the ministerial office than the collective esteem and honour of winning the governorship election in Lagos State.
“We were defeated by the agent provocateurs within our ranks. We were defeated by political renegades who merely invested in their own greedy and selfish interests.
“This cannot continue. Nobody is above the constitution of the party. We must either strictly adhere to the normative pattern of the party rules or we ship out. There will be no exemptions.
“The party is supreme. Enough of all these so-called groupings. Groupings do not build a healthy and strong national party. It is parochial and destructive.”

ONE MAN FOOD IS ANOTHER MAN POISON, SUPER EAGLE JOB. OLISEH OUT SIASIA IN
Former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Oliseh quit his position with an outburst against his former employers on Twitter, just seven months into his job.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) acted swiftly to announce his successor, with Siasia, who scored 16 goals in 51 games for his country, taking the job once more.
The 48-year-old's previous tenure in charge of the Super Eagles ended with him being sacked in October 2011 - after a little under a year as coach - following the team's failure to qualify for the African Nations Cup.
Siasia will work alongside Salisu Yusuf, Emmanuel Amuneke and Alloy Agu for next month's African Nations Cup qualifiers against Egypt.
Chris Green, chairman of the NFF technical and development committee, told federation website thenff.com: "The new crew has the mandate to reach out to the very best Nigerian players anywhere.
"The matches against Egypt would not be picnics and we need our very best for those contests."
Oliseh resigned his position, writing on Twitter: "Due to contract violations, lack of support, unpaid wages, benefits to my players, asst. coaches and myself, I resign as Super Eagles Chief Coach.
