Tuesday, CNN’s Van Jones hosted a town hall event called “The Messy Truth” featuring former Republican Senator Rick Santorum and Republican strategist Ana Navarro. Among the topics discussed was the future of undocumented people brought to the United States as children, also known as Dreamers. Currently, Dreamers are protected from deportation by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy (DACA) which the incoming Trump administration has threatened to overturn. 

During the town hall discussion, audience member Elizabeth Vilchis, an undocumented mechanical engineer brought to the United States at age seven, asked Santorum how she should prepare for her future. “I stand to lose all the work that I’ve done if the new administration decides to end DACA,” she said. “I will lose my career and will potentially be labeled for deportation,” she said. Vilchis’ question inspired an unbelievably cold-hearted response by Santorum who told her to leave the country.

“What most people in America feel is that you’ve been given a tremendous benefit by being here in this country,” Santorum said. “My final point is that you have the ability to go to any other country right now and apply those wares, and be successful, and reapply to come back to America,” Santorum added. “Go and make the world a better place.” Santorum’s callus response, prompted Navarro to defend Vilchis. “First of all, this is your country,” she said. “No matter what he says, no matter what anybody else says, this is your country.”

Santorum’s remarks made many Twitter users furious.

Another example among others is Okechuku Enlamah a doctor by profession who is now the minister for trade and investment and ofcourse the list and flops go on and on.what about the Minister of Sport Minister Solomon Dalong who has not bee n making no sense from inception ofcourse hisflip flop during the under 20 dream team where he claimed that the ministry has no business with the dream team being stranded in the united State, the minister for sport just just displayed  another height  cluelessness by saying  that Nigerian qualification for the world cup is just going to be a mere waste of resources , he argue that there is no point participating in the world cup since the  Nigerian team will and can not win the competition, the question now is if the world cup participation all about winning or to foster world peace and unity and other non tangible factor, its not just about winning, what a minister who does not even know the nitty gritty of its ministry a man always showing  open support for the Biafran state from his outfit , what an absolute display of emptiness of idea a gross display of intellectual imbeciles   Am of the opinion that its high time President Buhari come of this crazy political pay off at the expense of Nigerians, professional should be allow to handle what they know how to do best and the likes of Aba Kiyari should desist from taken charge of the ruler ship of Nigeria, Nigerians voted for Buhari (though seems clueless), people should not take the advantage of the president clue-lessness to their advantage and to the overnight cabals in the likes of Raji Fashola, Kayode Fayemi and co you should all be reminded that south west can not be trapped into your political hegemony, the antics of naming Asiwaju Bola Ahmed bad will definitely not see the light of the day

CLINTON EMAIL INVESTIGATION IS OVER FBI DIRECTOR JAMES COMEY DECLARES

WASHINGTON — In a stunning last-minute announcement, FBI Director James Comey said Sunday that his agency's review of newly discovered emails has not changed his earlier conclusion that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton should not be prosecuted for her handling of classified information over email as secretary of State.

In a letter to lawmakers, Comey said the FBI is standing by its original findings made in July.

"The FBI investigative team has been working around the clock to process and review a large volume of emails from a device obtained in connection with an unrelated criminal investigation," Comey said in the letter. "During that process we reviewed all of the communications that were to or from Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of State," Comey wrote. "Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July with respect to Secretary Clinton."

Comey had rocked the presidential race with his announcement Oct. 28 that the FBI had uncovered a new trove of emails that might be relevant to the investigation of Clinton's use of a private email server. The emails were discovered on the computer of Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

The announcement, as voters prepare to head to the polls Tuesday, added more drama to an already turbulent campaign season.

Clinton was en route to Cleveland on Sunday when Comey issued his letter.

Aboard her plane, aides were seen sharing the letter on their wireless devices. Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri came to the back of the plane where the press is seated.

“We are glad to see that he has found — and we were confident that he would — that he has confirmed the conclusion he reached in July; and we’re glad that this matter is resolved,” she told reporters.

The campaign appeared to signify it would not gloat over the announcement, as Palmieri declined to answer questions as she customarily does.

Clinton’s commanding 11-point lead after the final debate with Republican Donald Trump in Las Vegas has narrowed to four to five points nationally in the aftermath of the late October announcement. She’s seen Trump close in on her in states like New Hampshire and North Carolina, where she’d once enjoyed a comfortable lead.

Though there is no way to tell how much of that is related to the announcement — versus a natural tightening of the race — the campaign has privately worried that the surprise announcement would badly hurt their attempts to court Republicans disillusioned with Trump.

Campaigning in Minnesota, Trump did not specifically mention Comey's announcement but appeared to allude to it.

Clinton is "protected by a rigged system," he said. "She shouldn't be allowed to run for president."

Comey’s brief written notice to Congress on Sunday was issued after consultation with Attorney General Loretta Lynch, a federal law enforcement official said Sunday.

The official who is not authorized to comment publicly said both sides agreed on the conclusion, which was reached earlier Sunday. The official said the investigative team that conducted the initial inquiry into Clinton’s handling of classified information as secretary of State worked night and day to review hundreds of thousands of communications as part of the new review.

The official said many of the communications involved in the new review were duplicates of emails analyzed during the initial inquiry.

The team delivered its findings Sunday, the official said.

As recently as Friday, federal authorities said that the work involved in the review had made it increasingly unlikely that it could be completed by election day.

GOP senator still doesn't support Trump after meeting with Pence

A meeting with Donald Trump's running mate, Mike Pence, didn't change Sen. Jeff Flake's (R-Ariz.) mind about supporting Donald Trump.

But, Flake said Sunday, he hopes Pence, a conservative governor from Indiana, can have an impact on Trump's tone and policy positions.
"Mike and I go way back. We came in the House together. I have a lot of respect for him.... I certainly respect him. I still told him I'm not ready to support Donald Trump," Flake said on CBS's "Face the Nation."
"I hope he has influence on Donald Trump but I've yet to see Donald Trump change positions he needs to change," Flake said, adding that the businessman needs to adjust his tone if he wants to win in November.
Flake said Pence told him Trump is different in private than he is in public, something that is often said about the Republican presidential candidate.
Flake rejected that defense.

He took issue especially with comments Trump made when launching his campaign about Mexico sending in its "rapists" and drugs to the U.S.
"That just doesn't sit well... You can't expect to win Arizona when you make statements like that."
Flake said he still hopes to be able to support Trump eventually.
"I still hope to support our nominee. It's becoming increasingly difficult to see that he's going to make the changes that he needs to."

The former Nigerian leader, who was reacting to reports that he attended a meeting of the PDP yesterday in Abuja, said it was unthinkable and preposterous for anybody to contemplate that he would reverse himself and return to a divided party “gasping for breath”.

It was earlier clarified here that Mr. Obasanjo’s visit to the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Center in Abuja on Friday for a programme on Agriculture, coincided with the inauguration of the PDP’s national convention committee, which was also taking place in one of the several halls in the center.

Confirming our report, the ex-president said he attended farmers’ event at the center organized by the Commodities Association Stakeholders on “Zero Hunger Nigeria” and not for any PDP event.

He noted that those behind the media report linking him with the PDP convention committee’s meeting were probably looking for ways to annoy and embarrass him, but assured that anybody hoping to drag him back to party on whose platform he was elected president twice, for whatever reason, would fail just “like any man serving a dead mice to a cat”.

“If I quit a party when it was alive and seemingly united, how could I go back to a now divided, factionalized party gasping for breath?”

“Those who know me, know that I have publicly announced my quitting partisan politics and those who will believe the purported story will believe anybody who tells him that his or her mother is not a woman”, he stated.

The elder statesman explained that he had ordinarily attempted to ignore the media report, but felt the need to clarify the situation due to plethora of phone calls he was still receiving from people who were confused about the said report.

“To clear the minds of doubting Thomases and those behind the orchestrated news in circulation and particularly those who had been calling to ascertain what actually happened at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua centre.

“The meeting commenced but few minutes into the session, his attention was drawn to the presence of some people walking up to where he was seated. At closer glance, he recognized them to be politicians and they exchanged pleasantries, saying they came to greet him and they walked out again from the meeting”, a statement signed by the former Nigerian leader’s spokesman, Mr. Kehinde Akinyemi, said on Saturday.

It further said that “Obasanjo cracked jokes with members of his former party on which platform he was elected as civilian president in 1999 before he later became the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT) of same party, calling them ‘invaders and gate-crashers’.

“The programme ended and immediately he and his entourage headed back to Lagos. He was barely hours in Lagos when he started receiving calls from both far and near, wanting to find out about his presence at a political party programme in Abuja.

“The photo as well as the media report in circulation, which claimed that he was spotted at a political party event is therefore mischievous, as a responsible journalist ought to have gone further to ascertain his actual destination in among the number of venues at the centre.

“They simply took the photograph of his alighting from his vehicle to read another meaning. It is shocking also to note that the picture was actually taken while on his way out of the Centre after the programme he attended had ended.

“This is height of irresponsible journalism, which the former President is calling for its investigation and sanction on anybody involved in order to serve as deterrent to others who may want to be used either by omission or commission to misinform the public on such sensitive issue”.

“She has said she is five to seven years younger than her husband, and his birth certificate shows he was born on 12/04/1937,” he said. 

Kaur said she and her husband, Mohinder Singh Gill, a farmer, had almost lost hope of having their own child and had faced ridicule in a country where infertility is sometimes seen as a curse from God.

“God heard our prayers. My life feels complete now,” she told Agence France-Presse from the northern city of Amritsar. “I am looking after the baby all by myself. I feel so full of energy. My husband is also very caring and helps me as much as he can.”

Their son, born “healthy and hearty” and weighing 4.4lb (2kg), has been named Arman.
